The Loire Valley is renowned for its wines, primarily made with Cabernet Franc grapes, which include some well known 'apellations' such as Saumur, Bourgueil, and our very local Chinon.
Wine was produced here at Château de Chargé since 1650. Although we no longer produce and bottle our own wines, we have developed an extensive range of 40 Loire Valley wines (Red, White, Rosé and Sparkling) for guests to try and buy. Guests in 2010 will still be able to sample the remaining bottles of our last production of Château de Chargé red produced in 2005 and 2006.
For enthusiasts (and enthusiastic amateurs) we offer free wine tastings and the opportunity to visit our two hundred year old vaulted cellars. By arrangement, we can also organise visits to wine producers in the area accompanied by a local bilingual guide.
